B.E.T. Pottery
Ceramics inspired by nature embody the harmonious relationship between the earth’s raw materials and artistic expression. Drawing inspiration from natural forms—such as leaves, stones, water, and organic textures—I create pieces that reflect the beauty and complexity of the environment. This approach not only honors the origins of the materials but also highlights the intricate details and patterns found in nature, often resulting in tactile surfaces and earthy color palettes that evoke a sense of connection to the natural world.
By integrating natural motifs and textures into the process of hand-building, wheel throwing, glazing, and kiln firing, potters craft ceramics that transcend mere functionality. These works serve as a celebration of the environment, inviting contemplation and appreciation of the natural elements that shape our lives. Each piece resonates with authenticity and timelessness, making my nature-inspired ceramics both enduring artworks and practical vessels.
About
Me
It all started in high school, where nature interwined itself in my ceramics. These were the first three pieces I ever made (of which my mom staked claim, as with most of my current pieces). Twenty years later and I am finally back to doing what I love most…connecting my experiences with what I can create.
